Is there a rain date for the Festival?
No. The Brandywine Festival of the Arts will be a rain or shine event! This decision is based on feedback we have received from many traveling artists who have a very tight schedule. Besides, a little rain never hurt anybody!
Are dogs allowed at the Festival?
Yes! Dogs are allowed on the festival grounds as long as they are on a leash and interact well in a large crowd. Please be aware that you are responsible for any damage your four-legged friend may cause.
Where can I park?
Unfortunately, parking is hard to come by in Brandywine Park. We reserve the spots directly across from the zoo for our guests with special needs. However, if your only special need is for a whimsical garden sculpture, fear not! There is a plethora of free parking at the old Wanamaker’s building on Augustine Cutoff, and at Baynard Stadium on North Park Drive. From either location, you can enjoy a worry-free, cost-free shuttle to take you to and from the Festival, every 15 minutes. Bonus: You’ll get a great view of the monkey house, without having to hoof it up the hill!
What do I get for the price of admission?
You get, not one, but TWO days of art, music, food and fun! That’s right – your $5 will get you an attractive hand stamp, which can be used to come and go all weekend. That means you can do your initial shopping on Saturday, talk yourself into that piece you loved on Saturday night, and return on Sunday to purchase it…without paying twice for entry! With all that money you saved, go ahead an reward yourself with another cupcake/crabcake/beer!
Don’t forget, your magical hand stamp also gets you free admission to the Brandywine Zoo. Stop by and say howdy – llamas are art lovers too!
Sometimes I have to shower…what if my stamp wears off?
If you really feel the need to maintain your personal hygiene over the weekend, please ask one of the friendly BFA volunteers to stamp your program on your way out. Present it to them on Sunday for your second day of admission. Go ahead, we trust you.
I’m looking for a specific artist. Where can I find her?
We appreciate your loyalty! Look for your favorite artist on this list, and match it up to this map. If you get lost, our volunteers will be happy to point the way.
Will ATM machines be available?
Yes! Be aware, that in previous years, the machines have been known to run out of cash by the end of the Festival.
Uh-oh…no cash. Can I still pay with a credit card?
Due to credit processing fees, artists may prefer that you bring them a check. However, if the vendors do not take cards at their booth (and many do!), they may choose to fill out a receipt for you to take to a designated cash register.
Can I smoke?
No. Don’t even think about it.
Is the Festival kid friendly?
The BFA is equal opportunity to all art lovers – even if the beloved art is finger paintings and play-dough. In fact, there’s a special tent just for kids at which they can get their faces painted, do crafts, and be otherwise distracted while mom or dad goes shopping.
