Is there a rain date for the Festival?
No. The Brandywine Festival of the Arts will be a rain or shine event! This decision is based on feedback we have received from many traveling artists who have a very tight schedule. Besides, a little rain never hurt anybody! **Please note that festival and DE state park management has the right to cancel the event due to catastrophic weather including hurricanes, tropical storms, high winds and flooding. Keep in mind we want all visitors to be safe and all artist and their art possessions to stay free from being damaged.
Are dogs allowed at the Festival?
Yes! Dogs are allowed on the festival grounds as long as they are on a leash and interact well in a large crowd. Please be aware that you are responsible for any damage your four-legged friend may cause.
Where can I park?
Unfortunately, parking is hard to come by in Brandywine Park. We reserve the spots directly across from the zoo for our guests with special needs. However, if your only special need is for a whimsical garden sculpture, fear not! There is a plethora of free parking at Incyte, and streets surrounding the park both north and south of the Brandywine River. From Incyte, and streets north of the Brandywine River , you can enjoy a worry-free, cost-free shuttle to take you to and from the Festival, every 15 minutes. For locations south of the Brandywine River, you have a quick walk over the N. Van Buren St bridge to our walk-in entrance.
*Shuttle buses are pet friendly (for friendly pets). However, no pets allowed in the Brandywine Zoo.
What’s there to eat around here?
You’ll find food in a couple places on the park grounds. This way, you’re never far from a refueling station. Local restaurants will offer festival specials in a food court at the south end of the park, near the fountain and close to the bus drop-off gate.
Will ATMs be available?
Yes! Our fabulous sponsor, WSFS Bank, has provided a mobile ATM truck for all your paper-money needs. Look for the big green balloon – the ATM is located near the fountain.
Uh-oh…no cash. Can I still pay with a credit card?
Many artists accept credit cards as a form of payment.
Can I smoke?
No. Don’t even think about it.
Is the Festival kid friendly?
The BFA is equal opportunity to all art lovers – even if the beloved art is finger paintings and play-dough. In fact, there’s a special tent just for kids where they can get their faces painted, do crafts, and be otherwise distracted while mom or dad goes shopping.
Is it too early to start my holiday shopping?
Of course not! The BFA is the perfect place to find gifts as unique as your loved ones.
